NYC Kids 1942
Drypoint engraving, chine colle
24" x 11"
This work celebrates both history and the making of that history. Tax accessors in New York City sent photographers to shoot each building on every block. Their camera rolls often contained more than just buildings, but the curious inhabitants as well. This work juxtaposes the coldness of those buildings with the lively eyes and expressions of those who dwell within them.
